Flona is an Indonesian company focused on ornamental plants and organic products, born in a green house in the western part of Java, where the idea of taking Indonesia's plant wealth to the world first took root. We began by conserving native orchid species, because their diversity and beauty represent the richness of our country.

Today we grow flora, fauna and organic goods side by side, guide every buyer on how to care for what they receive, and hand over a free Phytosanitary certificate with every plant that leaves our nursery.

FLONA is a name that embodies flora and fauna, and we aspire to be a player in the global market in this field. In flora we focus on orchids, aroids and medicinal plants. In fauna we develop chickens, fish and rabbits. All organic, in accordance with government standards, certified phytosanitary, and safely packaged.

Our story

From one green house
to nine countries

Never ceasing to grow: what started as an orchid conservation project became an export house for aroids, then medicinal plants, organic food, and finally fauna. Each chapter added a new reason for the world to look at Indonesia.

A pandemic-era commodity

During Covid-19, aroids took over the ornamental plant world. Overseas demand rose fast, and we turned them into a genuine Indonesian commodity.

Medicinal plants, organic rice and herbal drinks, rabbit, chicken and duck meat, all exported with the same certification and care.

The rarest leaves
in the archipelago

Indonesia boasts the largest diversity of orchids in the world: roughly 60,000 species, from the giant Grammatophyllum speciosum down to the leafless Taeniophyllum, including the rare Black Orchid found only in Papua. Conservation efforts have been limited, and many cultivated orchids are still imported. Flona exists to change that ratio.

More than 30,000 medicinal plant species have been identified across the archipelago, many of them highly effective herbal remedies. These five are Flona's flagships, deeply rooted in traditional medicinal practice, and now grown to export standard.

The other half
of our name

Flona is flora and fauna. Under open sky in Lembang we raise chickens in modern multi-level coops, conserve rabbits for their exceptionally lean meat, and keep fishermen's catch cold enough to travel.

BIOS 44 Care

Multi-level coops on a fully organic system: BIOS 44 Care in the feed, no hormone or antibiotic injections, and a final product that complies with strict organic standards. Our broiler chicken apartments run a capacity of roughly 25,000 chicks per cultivation.

Cold fish storage

Cold storage is still costly for fishermen and distributors, but it pays back: catch keeps longer, and margins improve. Already running in Santolo Beach (Garut), Pangandaran, Banjar and Tanjung Lesung (Banten), for fresh and frozen fish, lobster and shrimp.

Each plant is washed with a special solution, then set in pots with holes so it can keep breathing.
